Mariska Oosterveld-Vlug (1986) is a post-doctoral researcher at the EMGO Institute for Health and Care Research at the VU University Medical Center in Amsterdam. She has a Master’s degree in Health Sciences, after completing the master Prevention and Public Health in 2008, and a PhD degree after defending her thesis in 2014 entitled ‘Personal dignity in nursing homes’. Next to the PACE project, she is involved in an international project investigating the care (costs) and treatments that people receive in their last year of life, using health claims data and data from Statistics Netherlands, and a project investigating different aspects concerning Advance Care Planning among GPs and oncologist specialists. In addition, she is a teacher in the Qualitative Research course for Health Sciences students.
