PACE representation at 2017 EUGMS conference

The scientific committee of the 13th EUGMS Congress has accepted the PACE abstract 'Activating older people to plan future care: advance care planning' as a symposium.

The structure of the symposium:

1)    Prevalence and characteristics of Advance Directives among nursing home residents in Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Italy and Finland: EU funded PACE project

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Katarzyna Szczerbinska (Poland)

 

2)    Opportunistic and planned conversations about future care: the implementation of ACP as part of an innovative palliative care intervention ‘PACE Steps to Success’ in nursing homes in Belgium, the Netherlands, the UK, Poland, Italy, Finland and Switzerland: EU funded PACE intervention study

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Sophie Pautex (Switzerland)

 

3)    Advance care planning in dementia: recommendations for healthcare professionals working with people living with dementia (evidence and consensus-based guideline developed in 2016)

Speaker: Prof. Dr. Nele Van Den Noortgate (Belgium)

 

4)    The need for a whole system approach to optimally implement Advance care Planning in the nursing home context: development of a complex intervention

Prof. dr. Lieve Van den Block (Belgium)
